ARCH
Created by Kaleider
Dramaturg: Tanuja Amarasuriya
touring UK and internationally

an arch made from concrete and ice with a fire underneath it

Arch is a performance installation, revealing the beauty and flaws of the global systems we imagine, build, and come to rely on.

The audience witness an attempt, by two people, to build a freestanding arch, made two thirds of concrete blocks and one third of ice blocks. A choir of singers accompanies the performance in a continuous, musical vigil, framing Arch with fragility and hope.

This is honestly such a beautiful and profound experience, and such a privilege to be part of this team of awesome collaborators.

LNK_A EP
A short album of kinda retro electro tunes made entirely out of field recordings made on Sri Lanka. Birds? Sure. Bread vans? Yes of course. Monkeys? You BET. Endless honking traffic? Don’t be daft.

Breaking theatre is more fun than making theatre
Pervasive Media Studio lunchtime talk by Tanuja Amarasuriya
Friday 21st August at 1pm, on Watershed’s YouTube channel
(and then available to watch online whenever you fancy)

Tanuja talk time! What happens if we talk about difference in artistic, rather than statistic terms? Building on her 2017 article, ‘Wrong kind of asian, wrong kind of work’, Tanuja reflects on how industry conventions can box you in and the value of making art on your own terms. If you want to ask questions, you can join her live on Friday 21st. If you want to fast-forward through the boring bits, it’ll be available online once it’s done.
